Ensemble Allegria performs Sonata for strings
The ensemble helds concerts in Majorstuen Kirke 5 October and the Norwegian Academy of Music 6 October 2011. On the programme is works by Mozart, Schumann, Kvandal and Nystedt, and soloist is Kolbjørn Holthe. The work by Kvandal is Sonata for strings op.79 (composed in 1994).
Norwegian Ensemble Allegria consists of 20 young musicians aged 19- 27 years. The ensemble originates in the environment of the Barrat Due Music Institute and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. A number of exciting projects have already been conducted with concerts during the Bergen International Festival, Grieg Festival in Arendal and Ultima Festival in Oslo. The orchestra has received instruction from some of Norway's leading musicians such as Lars Anders Tomter, Are Sandbakken, Andrew Manza and Geir Inge Lotsberg.
